Seizure Smart Aging Adults Training covers what epilepsy is, recognizing and responding to the four most common types of seizures, risk factors, and symptoms of seizures in aging adults, triggers, treatment options, and the impact of epilepsy. Frequently, focal seizures experienced by aging adults are misinterpreted as the effects of aging or as dementia and remain undiagnosed. This training will benefit seniors, loved ones, or anyone who works with aging adults. The training will help with responding to those who are already diagnosed, and it will bring awareness for potential signs of seizures in seniors who may not have a diagnosis. It includes a certificate of completion that is worth one CEU for a one-hour presentation.
