What is the City of St. Cloud doing regarding downtown establishments?

The Governor revised the order to allow restaurants and bars to open up to outdoor seating on June 1st. The City of St. Cloud has been working with area establishments to increase outdoor seating. We have sent a letter to all the establishments in the City of St. Cloud and have looked at their ability to increase into their own parking lots. Downtown we have offered the ability for parking lots and potentially for street closures.

5th Avenue Closure

UPDATE:  9/14/2020 Please be advised that 5th Avenue South between 1st Street South and St. Germain Street West is now open to traffic.

The City of St. Cloud has had a meeting with all the property owners along 5th Avenue (between 1st and St. Germain). In that area, the consensus was not a need for utilizing downtown parking lots, but instead for a closure of 5th Avenue. Starting on Monday, June 1st 5th Avenue will be closed from 1st to St. Germain allowing additional sidewalk space and into the roadway with a lane in the middle for emergency or fire vehicles.

St. Germain Open

St. Germain street will remain open. Downtown restaurants on St. Germain are looking at increasing their capacity by utilizing on-street parking. Some restaurants, or bars, will also be extending contiguous to the front of their building and also potentially to a business that is on either side of them.
