Parks & Recreation: Equal Access for All?

Presented by Raintry Salk, Metropolitan Council

Friday, August 28, 2015
8:00 am - 9:30 a.m.

St. Cloud City Hall Council Chambers
400 2nd Street South
St. Cloud, MN 56301

Demographic shifts in Minnesota, combined with existing disparities among people of color, pose a critically important challenge to natural resource professionals. This Forum will explore racial equity, particularly as it pertains to nature-based recreation and access to our shared places and resources. Dr. Raintry Salk will share key findings and implications of her research on park use among select communities of color throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan region. Don't miss this important discussion as we all work to understand how to authentically serve the needs of a changing public.

Raintry Salk is a Research Analyst with the Metropolitan Council; her work has primarily focused on equity and parks.
