Representing the Mississippi River in International Climate Talks

Presented by: City of St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis

Friday, March 18, 2016
8:00 am - 9:30 a.m.

St. Cloud City Hall Council Chambers
400 2nd Street South
St. Cloud, MN 56301

The 2015 Paris Climate Conference wrapped up in December by--for the first time--committing nearly every country to lower greenhouse gas emissions. Seven mayors from cities on the Mississippi River attended the conference to speak to the importance of a clean and healthy Mississippi River in communities' resilience--and to the importance of halting climate disruption to protect the river.

Saint Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis participated in the conference as representatives of the Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative. Come hear the mayors told conference attendees, and how the agreements arrived at in Paris inform their thinking as mayors working to protect the Mississippi River. You won't want to miss this discussion!

Dave Kleis was elected Mayor of Saint Cloud in 2005, and is past co-chair of the Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative.
