St. Cloud’s Water Quality Report
The City of St. Cloud works hard to provide safe and reliable drinking water that meets federal and state water quality requirements. The purpose of the annual Water Quality Report is to provide information on drinking water and its treatment while also providing information on how to protect valuable water resources.
This report contains monitoring results from January 1 to December 31, 2022.

Protecting our Water Resources
Drinking water is a precious resource, yet it can be taken for granted. Clean water is key to healthy people and healthy communities. Water is also vital to a healthy economy. Water is needed for manufacturing, agriculture, energy production, and more. More than one-fifth of the U.S. economy would come to a stop without a reliable and clean source of water.
The City of St. Cloud protects source water with a robust Stormwater Program. Drinking water taken from the Mississippi River is treated at the City’s Water Treatment Facility to remove harmful contaminants and extensive testing is carried out to ensure the safety of drinking water from the facility to the tap.
Greater Water
Water from a public water system like St. Cloud is tested more thoroughly and regulated more closely than water from any other source, including bottled water. This clean, safe, and inexpensive water is readily available at homes, businesses and industries thanks to a team of dedicated water professionals.
Water Treatment Improvements and Upgrades
The Water Treatment Facility is currently under construction for the Advanced Process Improvements and Upgrades Project. This project is expected to be completed in 2024 and will position the Utility to meet and exceed future regulatory requirements.
