[ARCHIVED] Spring has sprung

Congratulations -

You survived another Minnesota winter.  Now is the time that everything greens up, the fire pit gets cleaned out, and the grills are warming up.  Here are some things to keep in mind for the season.

  • If you haven't purchased your recreational burning permit its prime time to do that.  Other types of burning permits are also available such as agricultural permits and prescribed burns.  Check out the regulations and permits page for a full list of those requirements.  Also keep in mind any burning restrictions that are in place.  Until the green up is in full swing and the grass is still brown be extra vigilant about checking this website as well as the Minnesota DNRs website for any current restrictions.
  • Refresh your memory on where grills are allowed to be used and they are not.  Due to your good practices the number of grill caused fires to almost none.

If you have questions check out the Cities website or call the Fire Department at 320.650.3500 to get them answered.
