Safe and Reliable Drinking Water
The City of St. Cloud works hard to provide you with safe and reliable drinking water that meets federal and state water quality requirements. The purpose of the annual Water Quality Report is to provide you with information on your drinking water and its treatment and provide information on how to protect our valuable water resources. The report contains our monitoring results from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
Drinking water is a precious resource, yet we often take it for granted. It is key to healthy people and healthy communities. Water is also vital to our economy. We need water for manufacturing, agriculture, energy production, and more. More than one-fifth of the U.S. economy would come to a stop without a reliable and clean source of water.
The City of St. Cloud protects source water with a robust Stormwater Program. Water is then treated to remove harmful contaminants, and extensive testing is carried out to ensure the safety of drinking water from the facility to your tap
The St. Cloud Water Treatment Facility is located on the banks of the Mississippi River below Hester Park. The facility provides high quality drinking water to customers in St. Cloud and St. Augusta.
The facility has a total current capacity of 24 million gallons per day.
Water from a public water system like ours is tested more thoroughly and regulated more closely than water from any other source, including bottled water. This clean, safe, and inexpensive water is readily available at homes, businesses and industries thanks to dedicated water professionals.
The Water Treatment Facility is currently under construction for the Water Treatment Facility Advanced Process Improvements and Upgrades Project. This project is expected to be completed in 2023 and will ensure the Utility can meet and exceed future regulatory requirements.
