St. Cloud is not just treating wastewater at the Nutrient, Energy and Water Recovery Facility - we are recovering resources.

In addition to powering the Nutrient, Energy and Water Recovery Facility largely from renewable energy produced onsite in the form of biogas, St. Cloud is dedicated to making the most of the other resources available.

The facility creates a biofertilizer product, and we can now also recover phosphorous for beneficial reuse - this keeps excess phosphorous out of our waterways, and allows it to be used where it is most needed - on farmland used to grow crops.
