Whitney Senior Center

In the heart of Central Minnesota, Whitney Senior Center is located in the middle of the state about 60 miles northwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. St. Cloud is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the state. With a growing population of 65,000 not including the surrounding cities of Sartell, Sauk Rapids, and Waite Park, St. Cloud is known for it's placement on the Mississippi River.

Whitney Senior Center is located on the North end of Saint Cloud, near the St. Cloud Hospital, Dr.'s Park, SCTCC and the YMCA.

From the East / From Minneapolis


  1. I-94 West to St. Cloud
  2. Take Highway 15 exit to St. Cloud (2nd exit to St. Cloud)
  3. Stay on Highway 15 and turn right on 12th Street North
  4. 12th Street turns into Northway Drive (drive about 1.5 miles)
  5. Left into parking lot of Whitney Senior Center.

From the North


  1. I-35 to Minnesota Highway 23
  2. Take Highway 23 west to St. Cloud
  3. Take a right at the 9th Avenue exit
  4. Follow 9th Avenue through downtown St. Cloud
  5. You will pass the St. Cloud Post Office on your right and go through residential neighborhoods before you come to an intersection crossing. It's a long drive, so don't think you're lost!
  6. At the stop light on Northway Drive, take a left onto Northway Drive (you will see a stone structure created by the WPA to cue you that it is Northway Drive)
  7. On Northway Drive, the 2nd right will take you to the parking lot of Whitney Senior Center

From the South


  1. Take Highway 15 North to St. Cloud
  2. Stay on Highway 15 and turn right on 12th Street North
  3. 12th Street turns into Northway Drive (drive about 1.5 miles)
  4. Left into parking lot of Whitney Senior Center

From the West/ From Street Joe


  1. Take Highway 23 East to St. Cloud
  2. Take a left onto Highway 15
  3. Stay on Highway 15 and turn right on 12th Street North
  4. 12th Street turns into Northway Drive (drive about 1.5 miles)
  5. Whitney Senior Center is on the Left side of the road (YMCA is across the street from us)

From 1-94 E

  1. I-94 East to St. Cloud
  2. Take Highway 15 exit to St. Cloud (Exit 167 B - the 1 to St. Cloud)
  3. Stay on Highway 15 and turn right on 12th Street North (you'll go through at least 6 stop lights)
  4. 12th Street turns into Northway Drive (drive about 1.5 miles)

From North on Highway 10

  1. Highway 10 to St. Cloud
  2. Take Minnesota Highway 15 south exit to St. Cloud
  3. Stay on Highway 15 and turn left on 12th Street North (it should be about 2 to 3 stop lights)
  4. 12th Street turns into Northway Drive (drive about 1.5 miles)
  5. Whitney Senior Center is on the left side of the road (YMCA is across the Street from us)

From South on Highway 10


  1. Take Highway 10 to Highway 23, exit to St. Cloud
  2. Take Highway 23 west to St. Cloud
  3. Take a right at the 9th Avenue exit

Transportation to Whitney Senior Center (WSC)

We understand that getting to and from WSC can be an issue for those with limited transportation.

St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission (Metro Bus)

 
Metro Bus is a great resource for public transportation. There is a bus stop right next to the WSC for your convenience, and bus schedules are posted at entrances of the building. Tri County Action Program (Tri-CAP)


Connecting people in central Minnesota, Tri-CAP is a public service that provides transportation from rural areas outside of St. Cloud into the city and back. Tri-CAP does not provide service within St. Cloud so they do not duplicate the Metro Transit service. Advance reservations are required, please call Dial-A-Ride at the phone numbers listed below. Service runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The fee for a 1-way trip is $3, or it is $6 for a round trip.
