Who We Are

The Cop House Fishing Crew is a 5 month program with the intent on teaching kids to fish. The program will start with learning basic skills on how to use fishing equipment safely and effectively and will continue with taking the participants on fishing trips. The program will be taught and organized by members of the St. Cloud Police Department Community Engagement division working in close partnership with the fishing for life organization.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to provide mentorship to St. Cloud area youth as well as teach them valuable skills that will lead them to be safe and effective fisherman. The program is free to all and equipment will be provided.

Officer Gronli

I grew up near Willmar Minnesota and lived near several lakes. My grandfather loves to fish, and I learned most of what I know from him. I fished throughout my childhood where I learned about ice fishing, spearing, bow fishing, and fly fishing. I was able to participate in several fishing leagues throughout high school. Also, in middle and high school I was able to go on several boundary waters trips where I learned wilderness camping and canoeing skills. I went to St. Cloud State University for Criminal Justice and started my Law Enforcement Career in Duluth Minnesota. I moved Saint Cloud Police Department in 2016 and joined the community engagement division in 2019. I am not the best fisherman, but it is something I enjoy doing with family and friends. I am one of the event organizers and am happy to answer any questions you might have about the Cop House Fishing Crew program.
