Public Participation

The partnering agencies involved in the 33rd Street South Corridor project have established an “open door” policy that allows citizens the opportunity to stay connected with the project as it develops. The following is a general outline of the open door policy:

  • Citizens will be allowed to observe (like an audience) monthly Project Advisory Committee meetings. Please note that these meetings are held on an “as-needed” basis only. The next Project Advisory Meeting is scheduled for August 21, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Stearns County Public Works facility at 455 28th Avenue South, Waite Park. If time permits, citizens will be allowed to ask questions during the last 10 minutes of the meeting.
  • Citizens are also allowed to make appointments with the project manager, or with any agency involved in the project to ask questions and/or discuss project related issues.
  • Project inquiries/concerns can also be made in writing via regular mail or e-mail. The project advisory team will review all written comments and reply in writing. Please refer to the Project Contact Information link.
  • A second open house is planned for Fall, 2007 where citizens can continue to observe project progress, ask questions, and make written comments regarding the project.
  • A formal public hearing regarding the Environmental Assessment is planned for Spring/Summer, 2008. The preferred geometric design alternative will also be presented at this public hearing.
  • This project website has been created as a tool to foster public communications and to provide up-to-date information regarding project progress.
