The Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) submits the Minnesota Uniform Crime Report. This report provides statistics to law enforcement, members of the state government and the general public for their use in analyzing crime in Minnesota. In addition, the data has been submitted to the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Uniform Crime Reporting Program.
These statistics have been compiled from data submitted by Minnesota police chiefs and sheriffs. The continued contributions allow the BCA to provide what is currently the most comprehensive picture of crime in Minnesota.
