Does your child love to fish? Or maybe you are looking to expose your child to fishing, but don't have the equipment to try it out? The Lake George Fishing Club is back for 2016! On Tuesdays from mid-June to mid-August, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., meet at the Lake George Boathouse/Shelter on the east side of the lake for a little catch and release fun, along with other great activities! Equipment and bait will be provided at no charge. Remember, if your are 16 or older a fishing license is required.

Granite City Days Tenth Annual Fishing Derby & Outdoor Expo
Join us at Lake George on Sunday, June 26th for the Tenth Annual Fishing Derby & Outdoor Expo, sponsored by Scheels, part of St Cloud's Granite City Days Family Fun Day! The fishing derby will run from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm; other exhibits and activities will be running until 3:00 pm. This a free community event, but we do ask that you bring nonperishable food items for local food shelves. Bring your own equipment or borrow ours; bait will be provided. There will be great activities and entertainment for everyone! For those 16 and older, don’t forget your fishing license.
Fishing Equipment Donation Program
Do you have old fishing tackle or rod and reels just lying around? St. Cloud Park and Recreation is asking anyone who might have such equipment to donate it for our Lake George Fishing Club, educational seminars, special events and for kids or families who need fishing equipment to checkout for use. If you would like to donate, please drop off used — or new! —Fishing equipment at Whitney Recreation Center or Lake George Municipal Complex.
